Show 0 1 LIEUT. EDWARD CORNELIUS Dixie Boy Gets 'Wings and A Bride' "Wings and A Bride," seem to be the order of the day with Uncle Sam's soldiers of the air. This is the report of Edward H. Cornelius, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cornelius of Virgin, who received his wings and commission commis-sion as Second Lieut, in the U. S. Army air forces at Stockton Field, Calif., Feb. 8th, and on Feb. 10th was married to Miss Gladys Gilbertson of Reno. After their marriage the couple visited the bride's relatives and friends in Reno then came on to Virgin to visit Lieut. Cornelius' parents and other relatives and friends for the remainder of his leave. Enlisting in the Army air corps (Continued on page five) Lieut. Cornelius (Continued from first page) reserve in Aug. 1942, Lieut. Cornelius Corn-elius was called into service in March 1943, taking his pre-flight training at Santa Ana, his primary prim-ary at King City, and basic at Chico, then on to Stockton, where he graduated. He is now assigned as-signed to Yuma, Ariz., where he will receive combat training. Mrs. Cornelius has returned to her home in Reno, but may join her husband later at Yuma. |
