Show Cedar Swamps Flyers To Take League Lead Hurricane Plays Redmen This Week End With Cedar Rating Edge After a stinging defeat by the Cedar City Redmen last Friday night, the Flyers are out to win the remainder of their scheduled games to insure a place in the regional tournament on March 3 and 4. At the same time they can trust only to upsets over the Redmen' to bring the tourney to St. George rather than to Cedar City. Will Clear Tourney Situation Games this, week will definitely clear up the situation. Cedar City plays at Enterprise and then takes on the Hurricane Typhoons at Cedar. The Redmen also have a game scheduled at Parowan. It is not beyond likelihood that the Redmen will lose one of these, though it would have to be a distinct dis-tinct upset. In the meantime Dixie plays Enterprise here Saturday Sat-urday night and Valley next Tuesday. Tues-day. In case Cedar and Dixie end the season in a tie, a play-off game would be played before the tournament tourn-ament to decide the place of the meet. The game with Enterprise Saturday Sat-urday will commence promptly at 7:15 p.m., in order not to interfere inter-fere with the Fine Arts Festival play the same evening. The time for the Valley game next Tuesday has not yet been set, but will be announced later. Fans are asked to watch for the special advertising adver-tising cards. Cedar City played a high grade of ball to take an easy victory over the Flyers last Friday night 35-17. On the other hand, the Flyers were in a distinct slump. The locals also played ragged ball during most of the game with Kanab here Saturday night, though rallying to win 48-32. In the last few minutes of the game, how- ( ever, the Flyers seemed to come out of their slump. Flyers Given A Rest Coach Hafen has rested his boys the first two days of this week and hopes they will have lost most of their staleness this week end. Enterprise upset Kanab at Enterprise En-terprise last Friday 44-33, and Hurricane won an easy victory at Parowan. The Typhoons also trimmed the Valley team at Hurricane Hur-ricane on Saturday night 48-15. Parowan plays at Valley Friday and at Kanab Saturday. The remaining re-maining schedule has been disrupted dis-rupted because of the regional tourney. Each team will arrange for the completion of its own schedule.
