Show Mr. and Mrs. Israel Neilson Celebrate Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary Tuesday, Feb. 22 Felicitations of relatives and friends were extended in person and by letter Tuesday, Feb. 22nd, to Mr. and Mrs. Israel Neilson Sr., of Washington on their 60th wedding anniversary. In the home where they have resided the entire en-tire 60 years the couple met their children and friends and enjoyed visiting and talking over their many experiences in Dixie pioneering. pio-neering. Both are natives of Denmark, Mr. Neil-son coming to America when he was five years old and Mrs. Neilson, who was Georgina Sorenson, was 16, when she came to Washington. Both have known the toil of the Dixie Cotton mission, mis-sion, but have no regrets. Mr. Neilson remembers when his father, Peter Neilson, brought his carefully saved $600.00 to David Cannon in St. George to help pay the freight on the window lights for the St. George stake Tabernacle and Temple. They began their married life in the house his father built and that is still their home. Making their living from cattle raising, farming and for many years running a small grocery store, they have prospered, have given their children good educations educa-tions and lived to see their grandchildren grand-children and great-grandchildren establishing themselves in the land they helped to bring under cultivation. culti-vation. They have eight grandsons grand-sons in military service.
