Show They Lived Underground More Than a Month Scientists Test Man's Reaction To Six-Day Week To determine whether man could adjust himself to a life cycle differing differ-ing from the 24-hour day observed almost since time began, two University Uni-versity of Chicago physiologists lived for 34 days in the depths of Mammoth cave, Kentucky. Attempting Attempt-ing a 28-hour cycle of living, Dr. Nathaniel Klcitman, director of the experiment, was unable to break away from the 24-hour habit, his periods of sleep and wakefulness remaining normal. His assistant, Bruce Richardson, completely adapted himself to the six-day week. Dr. Klcitman is shown checking the machine which registers the movements move-ments of the sleeping Richardson. ! ' , |
