Show Pioneer Celebration At Pine Valley Expected To Draw Large Crowd Full Day's Program Mapped By Committee In Charge; Program Starts At 10:30 Monday Morning Arrangements are nenring completion com-pletion for the annual Pioneer celebration at Pine Valley to lie held this year on Monday. July 25. It is understood a larger crowd than usual is preparing to attend this year's stake outing. The stake primary will entertain the children at the recreation center cen-ter from 10 to 11 a.m. This feature will be under supervision of Margaret Mar-garet McMullin, stake primary leader, of Leeds, assisted by a group of ward play loaders from other parts of the stake. All children child-ren will be given a special treat. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. there will be an adult program under direction of the stake relief society board, featuring a half hour of music by the St. George Martial band, with the actual program from 11 a.m. to 12 noon ss follows: Community singing "Come, Come, Ye Saints" and other numbers, num-bers, lead by D.LT.P. chorister. Hot-tie Hot-tie Bent ley. Prayer by the chaplain of the day. Pres. W. O. Bentley. Pioneer Poem, "The Old Virgin Ditch" by Mabel Jan-is. Music selections, Enterprise ward. Pioneer Incidents, related by Pres. W. W. McArthur and Bp. H. S. Snow, St. George, ex-Bp. Edw. R. Frei, Santa Clara, and Mrs. Margaret McMullin, Leeds. Selections, W.P.A. Orchestra, St. George. Pioneer Dramatization, Pine Valley Ward. Prayer, by the chaplain. Following the program groups (Continued on page four) Pioneer Celebration (Continued from first page) will have a two hour period for lunch. From 2 to 3 p.m. stunts will be featured by the Washington, Santa Clara, Enterprise, Leeds, and the three St. George Wards. Games and sports from 3 to 4 p.m. will be in charge of Stake M.I.A. President Walter Cannon and associates. Concessions for the day will be managed by the D.U.P. and Stake Primary who will have on sale ice cream, pop and hot dogs. While the program is on at Pine Valley, citizens of St. George who remain at home will be provided pro-vided with entertainment on the day of the 25. The Stake Recreation Recrea-tion committee and Sunday school officers are arranging a program of sports and dancing. Detials of events will appear in next week's paper. |
