Show Hurricane To Have 250,000 Gallon Headhouse HURRICANE, Utah The City of Hurricane has made application with the W.P.A. for funds with which to build a new headhouse. It is to be of the "closed-in" type and is to have a water holding capacity of 250,000 gallons. The application is reported by city of-ficals of-ficals to have been approved by the W.P.A. office and they declare that the work, will proceed as soon as plans, specifications and bids by the contractors can be approved. ap-proved. When the project is completed the city will be assured of an average water supply for an average aver-age period of five to six days in case of a break in the pipe line at any time. The water stored in this head-house head-house will have sufficient pressure to protect the city in case of fire. The city officials have already ordered 600 feet of fire hose, including in-cluding a cart for operation. Officials Of-ficials point out that the people of Hurricane should be benefited by this through a reduction in fire insurance rates. "This project will serve as a great step in assuring the health of" our people by making living conditions more sanitary; and will also assure more complete protection pro-tection of homes and property by having something to aid in checking check-ing destructive fires", pointed out a city official. |
