Show Hurricane Miss Mil da Isom Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Mark Adair and family have moved to New Harmony. Har-mony. Mr. Adair is going to take over the mail contract, runnning between New Harmony and Kan-arra. Kan-arra. Miss Shirley Spendlove returned return-ed home from Salt Lake City on Friday, July S. She has been attending at-tending the L.D.S. Business college col-lege there for the past several months. Results of the baseball games played on Saturday, July 9: Hurricane Hur-ricane boys at Springdale, Hurricane Hurri-cane won, 12-S. Hurricane girls and St. George girls at Hurricane. Hurricane won, 13-9. Marian Hinton is now employed at the Hurricane Co-op. Miss Cuella Sherrett, of Cedar City, is visiting friends and relatives rela-tives at Hurricane. Miss Genevieve Isom and Mrs. Eleanor Ruesch held their bridge club on Wednesday evening, July 13, at Miss Isom's home. Twelve members were present. Miss Phyllis Gibson has returned home from Salt Lake where she has spent some time visiting with her sister, Mrs. Laurel Dean. Howard Kleinman went to Cedar City when his father. C. M. Kleinman fell from a load of grain in his field at Toquerville. Mr. Kleinman is in the Iron county hnsDital. His condition is nuite serious, having received internal injuries. The north ward Sunday school special Book of Mormon class met on Sunday evening at the home of Miss La Prele Isom. The lesson was presented by William Isom. Light refreshments were served to 22 people. Earl Spendlove is employed for the summer as student assistant of the Range Management Soil Conseravtion Service at Caliente, Nev. He is majoring in forestry while attending the U.S.A.C. at Logan. Men Leave Hurricane W. E. Johnson, state engineer, who has been a citizen of Hum-cane Hum-cane for the past year and a half, has been transferred with his assistant, as-sistant, James Judd, to Provo. During Dur-ing the length of time that Mr. Johnson has been here there has been three or four large steel and concrete bridges constructed under his partial supervision; and miles of road have been built and repaired. re-paired. During this time the bridge connecting Hurricane and La Verkin Ver-kin (the largest concrete bridge in the state! was In counstruction there was not one accident resulted, result-ed, which was in any way of a serious nature. It is fine men like these and their families that are an asset to any community com-munity and are always welcomed.
