Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard ! Reporter ;Mrs. D. W. Gibson left for Los Angeles Thursday where she will visit with her children for some ' time. Miss Eleanor Nicholes spent i Thursday and Friday with her parents in Provo and then at-j at-j tended the State B.-P.W. conven-j conven-j tion held in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday. I Mr. and Mrs. Coy Anderson, the former Miss Claudia Beams, ' have moved to Enterprise. Miss Barbara Hirschi, who is i attending the B.Y.U., spent the ! week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Hirschi. Several students from the A.C. college in Logan were here i Thursday through Sunday working work-ing at the local experiment farm. Those who came included: Bill Isom, Hugh Jukes, Warren Church and Bill Smith, j The grass on the new high school football field was cut for the first time last Tuesday. Gene Wadsworth and Finley Judd were guest speakers at the road celebration at Enterprise last Saturday. ' The Elementary school orches1 tra gave a concert in their auditorium audi-torium Wednesday afternoon. It consisted of several orchestra selections, numerous solo and ensemble numbers. Glenn Webb was in charge of the program. Miss Myrta Wilson, who has been in Ogden during the past month, was home during the week end but returned on Monday Mon-day to work in Kress' store. Heber Petty of Eager, Ariz, came up Thursday and took John Petty to a Salt Lake hospital for treatment. Mr. Petty has been ill for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Imlay visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Imlay and the Oliver DeMille family. They have been employed at Loa for some time but are now transferred to Cedar City. Mrs. Zeala Hartley Larsen and small daughter arrived here Monday Mon-day from Salt Lake City to stay at the Alfred Hartley home. Frank Martian and Milton Campbell came up from Las Vegas Monday evening and took Miss Wealthy Campbell back with them for a visit. Saturday, 25 Hurricane girls attended at-tended the annual Bee Hive Swarm Day at Springdale. Accompanying Ac-companying them were their teachers and several of their mothers. Student body elections were held on May 1 as follows: Dil-worth Dil-worth Stout, student body president; presi-dent; Yvonne Jackson, vice-president; Alta Jolly, secretary; Wilma Isom, cheer leader and Barney Trover, editor. The spring festival of the north ward primary was held Monday evening, May 6. Mrs. Mina Hinton and Mrs. Irene Hinton were in charge of the operetta, "Around I the Year With the Primary Children" Chil-dren" in which 175 children took part. |
