Show Over 400 People Attend Barbecue Sponsored By Enterprise On Saturday College Baccalaureate Exercises To Be Held Sunday, May 19 Baccalaureate services for the Dixie junior college and graduation gradua-tion exercises for the L.D.S. Institute In-stitute students will be held on Sunday, May 19 in the Recreation hall. Dr. Adam S. Bennion will present the Baccalaureate sermon. The lower division of the college col-lege will hold their services on Tuesday, May 21 in the Woodward Wood-ward high school gym. Attorney Orval Hafen will be the speaker. I Crowd Gives Enthusiastic Okeh To Work Done And Plans For Future ENTERPRISE, Utah Over 400 people from Washington county and Nevada attended the barbe- , cue and program presented by the 1 Enterprise Civic clubs at the Utah-Nevada line on last Saturday. Satur-day. The meeting was held to celebrate the progress that is being made on the road between Enterprise and Panaca and those attending the meeting and driving over the road are enthusiastic over the possibilities of this road. County Commissioners of both counties, Senators and Representatives Represen-tatives from both counties, leading lead-ing citizens and the general public all joined in celebrating the building build-ing of the road and expressed satisfaction with its condition and future. The celebration was under the direction of Ivor Clove, president of the Enterprise Civic clubs, who introduced Lawrence Wadsworth, president of the St. George chamber cham-ber of' commerce, as toastmaster for the occasion. Mr. Wadsworth called on various men from both counties to give their views on the road and its future possibilities. possibili-ties. All expressed satisfaction with the progress being made. Senator James A. Wadsworth of Nevada, told the audience that Nevada had not designated where they would join Utah since only the legislature could do that and promised if he were re-elected that he would do everything in his power to see that the road came through Panaca and thence to Enterprise. A fine representation was present from Nevada also from Washington county with all three of the county commissioners being be-ing present. Also Senator Glenn E. Snow and Representative Albert Al-bert E. Miller. Appreciation was expressed by Enterprise for the support that they have been given in the fight to get this road. , Musical numbers were presented present-ed by the Enterprise string band and male quartet. |
