Show Hew Management And Policy Announced For Summer Dances M. J. Miles has taken over the management of the St. George Recreation Hall and Open Air Pavilion. An intensive program of promotion is planned to stimulate interest in dancing and possibly roller skating and other forms of recreation. The new management feels that it is an asset to the community to keep the Open Air Pavilion and other local dances in operation throughout the summer months. The advertising and promotion campaign initiated this week is designed to stimulate more interest in dancing with the hope that the response of the public will permit successful programs pro-grams to be carried out at all of It is the immediate objective of the new management to induce all groups to do more dancing, and measures are being undertaken under-taken to insure' successful dancing crowds at the Open Air Pavilion each Saturday night commencing May 11. The music for the opening dance next Saturday will be furnished fur-nished by Howard Cannon and his orchestra. The admission price will be 50 cents, but a free pass to the dance following the Alumni association's dance will be given to each purchaser of a ticket at (Continued on page three) New Management And Policy Announced For Summer Dances (Continued from first pagei the opening dance Saturday. It was the first thought of the committee com-mittee in charge to hold a free opening dance, but it was suggested sug-gested that this might be interpreted inter-preted as an attempt to interfere with the established dances, so the free pass procedure was adopted instead. As a special inducement to the young people who are attempting to save money for school or other purposes the "Card Dance" program pro-gram established during the past several winters will be extended throughout the summer months. Cards good for admission to five or ten dances will be sold for $1.50 and $2.50 respectively. After the opening dance, at which every patron receives a free pass to the May 25 dance, it will be the policy of the management manage-ment each night to issue 10 passes to the next dance. Five of the recipients of these passes will be. selected by the crowd present, and five will be selected by the management. The number of free passes will be increased if the crowds present become large. Spot waltzes and various prizes will be featured at each dance. Individuals holding the "Card Tickets" will be eligible for these prizes and free passes. It is urged by the new management manage-ment that everyone support all the dances in this vicinity, it stimulates business and helps keep the towns alive and everyone happy. Regarding the dances in St. George, the new management emphatically em-phatically promises to the people of this community a new deal in recreation. Organizations and groups interested in sponsoring dances are invited to investigate the arrangements available. The management will go far in this respect as the interest and support sup-port of this form of recreation will justify. It is the hope of the committee that our people will support them in this undertaking, and especially on the opening night next Saturday. |
