In spite of being the butt of many jokes by local residents, the dairy goat division of the junior livestock show was a huge success. Barbara ' Fletcher of Tabiona, was ! the judge. Under her wat-; wat-; chful eye, the young . 4-H'ers learned to properly proper-ly show their dairy goats. The 4-H'ers also learned what to look for in a good milking doe. Steve Regan Company generously donated 100 lbs. of grain to the best buck of show, and 100 lbs. of grain to the best doe to show. The award went to M & N Ranches J T Shadow, a registered Saanen buck, shown by Jennifer Amodt, and the Kulamar's Heidi, a recorded grade Saanen doe, owned and shown by Andria Amodt. The judge this year will be E. "Duffy" Lewis of Fountain Green. Duffy has raised dairy goats for many years. He has shown them in many states and has been a dairy goat judge for a long time. A past presi-. dent of Intermountain Dairy Goat Assn., he is considered an expert in the field of dairy goats by many people. There will be a pre-show pre-show demonstration on how to show dairy goats in the ring, Wednesday morning, June 2 at 9 a.m. The show this year will be under the direction of Merrill Lee Amodt. She encourages all who own dairy goat milkers and doe kids or registered bucks, to bring them to the show. However, they must be dehorned, as horns can be quite dangerous at a show. So come out and enjoy the fun with the dairy goat breeders of Uintah County. !? v. .
