Show Shopping Center in Naples The Naples City Council rezoned 111 acres last Friday to allow for a proposed shopping center to be located at 2800 East Highway 40. The proposed shopping center would include a discount store, a large food chain store and 30 other stores on the property. According to Lawrence Kay, Naples Mayor, the council was "pleased" with the proposal for a shopping center in their newly incorporated city. Developers of the shopping center say they will begin construction within 200 days and indicated that by sometime next year the project would be complete. Mayor Kay said. The property for the shopping center was originally zoned RA-1, 1-1 and C-l for residential, industrial and commercial use. The council approved a commercial zoning for the parcel. Also at the Naples City Council meeting the council approved a zoning map and ordinances for zoning, business licenses and building permits. To date the Naples City hasn't secured a contract from Uintah County for police protection in the area, but according to Mayor Kay, a contract has been written and only a few stipulations in the contract have to be modified. |
