Strout downed Palmer's, 12 to 9, Saturday for first place in the Palmer's Tire and Battery Invitational Saturday. The Vernal Memorial Invitational will take place Friday, Saturday and Monday. Svirouv rallies for find inning win The undefeated team in the Palmer's Tire and Battery Invitational, Strout Realty, didn't want to become defeated in the championship game so they rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh for a 12-9 triumph over host team, Palmer's, Saturday in Roosevelt. Strout grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Rick Browning tripled tripl-ed and scored on a double by Ace Davis. However, Palmer's came right back in the bottom of the first and nabbed a 2-1 lead on runs by Kim Peterson and Jeff Alexander. Palmer's scored five runs in the second se-cond inning for a 7-1 lead on runs by Greg Todd, Bruce Todd, Jay Omer, Mac Fieldsted, and Peterson. The 7-1 lead was reduced to 7 to 4 on three runs by Strout in the third inning. Guy Coleman Col-eman and Paul Betts singled and scored on a homer by Browning. Strout scored four runs in the top of the fourth with two outs to take an 8 to 7 lead. The first two batters flied out, but Ralph Wright singled and Coleman got on the base paths on an error. Betts singled to score Wright and a double by Browning scored Coleman and Betts to tie up the game at 7-7. A single by Davis drove in Browning and gave Strout an 8-7 lead. Palmer's Tire refused to be deflated as they exploded for two runs in the fourth for a 9-8 lead.
