Show Cadette girl scouts earn silver award Regina Freestone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reg Freestone, and Cheri Mecham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mehcam, have earned the Silver Award, highest award in Cadette Girl Scouting. The girls completed the requirements for the award by doing a service project. They chose to buy books pertaining to Girl Scouting and present these books to the L'intah County Library to start a Girl Scout section in the library which would benefit all of the troops in Vernal. The girls also earned the Gold Leadership Pin, Service Aide Bars, patches and badges. The girls will now start working on the Gold Award, which is the highest award in Girl Scouting. The Gold Award is the equivalent of the Eagle Award in Boy Scouting. These two girls are still working toward their trip to Europe in 1983. |
