Show State News Quake shivers felt in So. Utah, Salt Lake City Residents throughout central and southern Sevier County, and as far away as Cedar City, were shook by an earthquake Monday measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale at the National Earthquake Service Center in Golden, Colo. The quake's epicenter was fixed at three miles southeast of Richfield by the University of Utah seismology center. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Of-fice said there were no reports of damage, though county residents reported swinging lamps, rattling dishes and swaying houses. Seismology center officials in Salt Lake City said quakes near Elsinore in Sevier County were measured at 6.0 in 1901 and 6.2 in 1921. |
