Show Aid 'Radde Many sports events have taken place during the past seven years, but only certain important and not so important items are stored in the memory banks in the Aldon Rachele Most Memorable Sporting Event Hall of Fame. The first member of the Most Memorable Hall of Fame would be Uintah's 65 to -1 wrestling victory over the Provo Bulldogs in Vernal in December of 1981. The week before Uintah feasted on another team from Provo, Timpview for a 55-3 triumph and the Utes enjoyed another Provo massacre due to the 65 to -1 win. The victory over Provo broke the old Ute shutout mark of 64-0. Uintah outscored the two Provo teams 120 to 2. Uintah had eight pins in the amazing win over the Provo Bulldogs, but the most memorable pin by the Utes was a fall by Uintah heavyweight David Weeks. Weeks pinned Pat Snyder of Provo in the second round to give the Utes a 65 to 0 win and Snyder disagreed with the official Billy Murray and a misconduct penalty changed Provo's score from zero to -1. The week before in the meet with Timpview Weeks failed to keep the Ute shutout intact as he dropped a decision in the final match, but this time he wasn't going to be denied wrestling glory as he obtained ob-tained a visit to pin paradise. What really stands out as far as the 1981-82 Uintah basketball team is concerned is a 6-1 record. Last year at this time Uintah's hoop program was in sad shape due to a 1-7 record. The Ute hoopsters have reversed things this year and are 6-1 with three wins over Union and single triumphs over Tooele, South Freemont and Altamont. The Utes have one item that they didn't have last year and that is seniors with experience. Seniors Mike Johnson, Randy McNamara, Gary Galley, Devin Wright, Roger Walker and Paul Hacking have helped the Utes with leadership and experience. Leading scorer Brian McNamara and other juniors Cary Hamilton, Jeff Drollinger and Ned Seitz have helped the Utes turn around the basketball program at Uintah High School. Another member of the Most Memorable Sporting Event Hall of Fame is Uintah's only basketball triumph during the 1980-81 basketball season. The hoop season was a rough one for the Utes, but they were happy after one game during the season as they thumped Union in overtime in December of 1980. Union had a 12 point lead in the fourth quarter, but Uintah rallied for a triumph in overtime. The win over Union proved to be the only victory of the year for the Uintah lean The Utes' 66 to 6 victory over Mun, inl978isamemteroftheHaJJote Uintah set a record for the most p3 sco.re(d by a Ute team in a duaff and the only loss by the Uintah S took place when Robert Bia hT, default a match due to a shoulder i J jury.
