Y. Siddoway, Uintah f Conservancy District manager, j is lacking is formalities. ' H. Carpenter, engineer for the al Utah Conservancy District, j said his district will build the V which will treat water from 1 j Springs, Red Fleet Reservoir iSteinaker Reservoir, jiary water will be delivered to -il, the Ashley Valley Water Imminent Im-minent District and the Jensen :i improvement District. However, the water to be delivered to the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District will not go through the treatment plant, according to Gayle McKeachnie, AVWSID at-torney. at-torney. The district's water will be delivered "near the end of the aqueduct," said McKeachnie, referring to the contract for the district's 4,000 acre feet of Red Fleet Water. Also McKeachnie said the CUWCD met Wednesday concerning the protests filed against the treatment plant. In exchange for the new plant, the Uintah Water Conservancy District has agreed to cancel a Sept. 16, 1965 agreement it had with the CUWCD sponsor of the sprawling Central Utah Project. The earlier agreement called for the CUWCD to return $17,000 annually to the Uintah District that the Central Utah District was to collect as taxes. The Uintah District was concerned about the problems of double taxation, Carpenter said. "The conditions have changed so drastically since then because the original amount was based on the assessed valuation of the districts a't that time," he said. The changes have been so drastic that the earlier figure "really doesn't mean anything anymore." So instead of the direct pay-back, taxes collected in the Uintah District will contribute to the building of the new treatment plant.
