Show Jensen 1 Gladys Peterson I l Phone 789-1945 J Scouts to sell firewood The Jensen LDS Ward Scouts, under the direction of Byron Tolman, went to Blue Mtn. to cut firewood Saturday. Many fathers went with the group to help out. The sale of this wood will help to finance the boys activities. The Kelly Powells are proud to announce an-nounce another new grandchild that has been added to the family line. A boy, born to Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Kaylynn) Sheffer. This makes seven granchildren for the Powells. The Kelly Powell family attended the farewell testimonial in Maeser Sunday for their nephew Don Williams, son of Leland and Gwen Williams. Jensen Ward will have apples for sale the first or second week in October. Mr. and Mrs. George Turner went on a trip to Denver, Colo., this week and left their boys at a friend's home during their absence. In the process of putting overnight bags in their place, the suitcases suit-cases were switched. Can you imagine the look on their faces when they opened open-ed their bags in Denver and found the team's football jerseys. Mr. and Mrs. Gwain Snow had visitors over the weekend as Mr. and Mrs. Stout and seven children from Ogden came to see them. She is Addie's sister. The Relief Society held their fall social last week and all who attended had a marvelous time. The theme was "Countries Around the World". Display tables were set up and articles and food from each country were presented for the evening. A special firemen's meeting was held Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the garage just east of the Conoco station. A reminder to everyone that the meeting will be held every month on the last Tuesday and we need the support of the community. Two wedding receptions were held last Saturday evening. One was in the cultural hall and the other was a yard reception. LDS general conference will be held this weekend so there won't be any church meetings held Sunday. Mrs. Wanda Allen has been in Provo this past week where she underwent surgery. She is doing well. Mrs. Mary Peterson went to Rangely, Colo., over the weekend to be with the Grant Ainges, they then went camping. Marba came back with her to stay for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Slaugh went to the farewell testimonial of their nephew, Don Williams in Maeser. Kathy Snow and her husband, Dale, were treated to a special time Sunday when her father took thern out for supper sup-per on Kathy 's birthday. Lorn Ruppe was treated to a special surprise supper to celebrate his birthday birth-day Tuesday. All the family came to congratulate hirn. The Ross Snows have been busy this fall making new cement walks around to have less mud and cleaner walkways this winter. Mrs. Reva Ruppe came down lo wish her grandson, Lorn, a happy birthday on Tuesday. Shelly Powell and Janet Slaugh were among those who participated in the annual an-nual Uintah High School Mud .Bowl game Friday. This event is traditionally traditional-ly a part of the schools activities on Homecoming Day. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis from Bend, Ore., came to visit relatives in the area. Mrs. Davis is a sister to Mary Peterson and Charlote Davis. Correction Mr. Melvin Wilkeas passed away Sept. 21. A typographical error in last week's Jensen news incorrectly said he died Sept. 26. |
