Elder Pennick from Salt Lake City, a member of the General Authorities gave the dedicatory prayer. Bob Young gave the opening prayer, with Bishop Hartle and President Kowalis giving a few remarks. The closing song was by the Lapoint and Tridell Ward Choirs, with Mr. Elroy Walker giving the closing prayer. There were people there who had lived in Lapoint when they went to church in a one room house. They could remember who had dedicated the old chapel. There was a very large crowd and everyone enjoyed the new facility. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Winn made a business trip to Las Vegas this week. Mrs. Thelma Winn is taking care of the store while they are gone. The last well that was drilled close to the Ronald Horrocks home has come in and is producing oil almost faster than they can haul it off with trucks running night and day. They have managed to slow it down enough to put valves on it so it can be handled properly. Mr. and Mrs. James Mansfield spend the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Mansfield. Lapoint Ward was well represented at Stake conference Sunday with four men being advanced in the priesthood. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Birmingham from Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dutson from Provo, visited at the home of Mrs. Thelma Winn. Word was received that Mr. Ray Sprouse is recovering from an operation. Mr. Sprouse lives in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Horrocks are on a last fishing trip for the season. Attending the funeral of Mrs. Helen Anderson from Lapoint was Mrs. Thelma Winn and Carolyn Lee. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilders from Heber visited in Lapoint this week. The Wilders worked on the Mosby Dam. Mrs. Vona Houty, former president of ,,' Veterans of Foreign Wars, has returned and was a visitor in Lapoint on Sunday.
