Show ON THE 29th of August, 1980, Wendi Christiansen became the bride of Devan Long in the Logan LDS Temple. Wendi and Devan Long plan to make their home in Salt Lake City Ci-ty where they will continue their education. Christiansen-Long wed in Logan LDS Temple Wendi Christiansen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Christiansen of Logan, Utah, became the bride of Devan Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long of Manila on August 29, 1980. The double ring ceremony was performed at the Logan LDS Temple. A wedding breakfast followed the ceremony at the Loft House, hosted by the parents of (he groom for relatives and friends of the bride and groom. A beautiful garden reception was held in Smithfield, Utah, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Christiansen's home, the brother of the bride, to honor the couple on Aug. 29. The brides colors were blue and white. She carried a bouquet of blue "roses and white daisies, accented with baby's breath. Maid of honor was Becky Boyce. Bridesmaids were Sheryl Collett and Jana Tinker, both sisters of the groom, Kelly Beckstead and Christie Heaps. The flower girl was Ashley Christiansen, a niece of the bride. The attendants all wore matching long dresses that were a blue flowered print. The dresses were accented with light blue garden hats and they carried bouquets of blue daisies. Mother of the groom and sister-in-law of the bride, Kathy Christiansen, chose long light blue dresses. The groom was attended by Kent Bigelow and Brian Torgeson as his best men. Ushers were Bryan Tinker and Terell Collett, brothers-in-law of the groom. At the bride's register were Brett and Becky Christiansen. Servers were the Bride's college roomates with Monique Tinker passing out napkins. Others assisting were friends from the Smithfield Fourth Ward. Refreshments were raspberry slush and raspberry tarts along with ribbon sandwiches and mints. The wedding cake was made by the aunt of the bride, Maria Attkinson. It had three tiers and four heart shaped cakes on the bottom layer and was topped with blue and white bells. An open house followed the next evening for the couple on August 30, in Manila. At the register were Ferl Briggs and Wilma Long, grandmother of the groom. Gift bearers were Monique and Jamie Tinker and Angela Hamblin. Servers were Judy Reed and Susie Cook. Presiding over the gift tables were Carlene Reed, Elva Bennett and Aleta Ellsworth. Others assisting were Juanita Ellsworth, Ida Marie Twit- chell, Twila Kesterson, Florence Christiansen, Lorene Briggs and Sue Tinker. A blue and white wedding cake in the form of a horse shoe with a pair of miniature cowboy boots and the names, Wendi and Devan written on it was made by Judy Hamblin. A prenuptial tupperware shower was given by Sandy Rogharr. A time shower was given by Gail Grunig, friend of the bride, and a kitchen shower was given by the groom's mother, Joyce Long. The newly married couple took their wedding trip to Southern California. Wendi and Devan are making their home in Salt Lake City where both are forking and going to school. |
