Show Uintah Basin barrel racers clash in jackpot meets Lori McNeill captured first place in the open barrel racing at a jackpot in the McNeill arena, June 4 with a time of 18.324. Cindy Young placed second at 18.678 and Darlene Frost placed third at 18.856. Jo Workman netted fourth place at 18.949 and Kristy McNeill pocketed fifth place at 18.997 and Rowey Pallesen placed sixth at 19.154. The novice barrel racing crown was won by Suzanne Fausett with a time of 18.734 and Gail Moncrief placed second at 18.880. Dixie AJien garnered third place with a score of 18.996 and Korine Gardiner placed fourth at 19.079. Marci McNeill netted fifth place at 19.388 and Debbie Grover placed sixth at 29.763. First places in the pole bending and goat tying contests were also nabbed by . Lori McNeill. She placed first in the pole bending contest with a score of 20.883 and netted first place in the goat tying contest at 10.648. She also placed third in the pole bending contest at 21.614. Also placing in the contest were: Bobette Warren, second, 20.962; Jo Workman, fourth, 22.363; Cindy Young, fifth, 22.887 and Gail Moncrief, sixth, 23.016. Cindy Young placed second in the goat tying with a time of 11.345. Also placing were: Kristy McNeill, third, 11.939; Bobette Warren, fourth, 13.204; Suzanne Fausett, fifth, 19.047 and Gail Moncrief, sixth, 22.787. Marie Bolton pocketed first place in the open barrel race in the Hilltop jackpot, which took place on May 28. She had a first place time of 18.36. Also placing were: Bobette Warren, second, 18.40; Kristy McNeill, third, 18.59; Darlene Frost, fourth, 18.74; Dana Petersen, fifth, 18.76 and Debbie Jo Cook, 19.38. Gail Moncreif placed first in the novice barrel race with a time of 19.12 and Debbie Wilkins placed second at 19.75. Becky Young picked up third place honors at 20.25 and Suzanne Fausett netted fourth place at 20.50. Kristy McNeill won the goat tying contest con-test with a time of 10.62 and Gail Moncrief Mon-crief placed second at 21.66. Kristy McNeill captured first place in the open barrel race in the Allen arena on May 20 with a time of 18.45 and Dana Petersen placed second at 18.66. Marie Bolton placed first in the novice barrels at 18.46 and Jo Workman nabbed second se-cond at 18.75. Danette Petersen captured cap-tured first place in the pole bending at 22.65 and Gail Moncrief placed second at 23.88. Cindy Young won the goat tying ty-ing contest with a score of 11.49 and Bobette Warren placed second at 14.68. Cindy Young is in first place in the open barrel standings in the Mountain States Barrel Racing Association with 182 points. Bobette Warren is in second place at 158 and Kristy McNeill is in third place at 137. Dana Petersen is in fourth place at 66. Jo Workman is in first place in the novice barrel racing with a total of 118. Suzanne Fausett is in second place at 76 and Gail Moncrief is in third place at 62. Marie Bolton is in fourth place at 59. The pole bending standings are as follows: Bobette Warren, first, 160; Cindy Cin-dy Young, second, 136; Jo Workman, third, 90 and Danette Petersen, fourth, 80. Cindy Young is in first place in the goat tying at 87 and Bobette Warren is in second place at 63. Kristy McNeill is in third place at 58 and Joan Reidhcad is in fourth place at 38. The team roping standings are: Bobette Warren, first, 242; Kristy McNeill, second, 228; Joan Reidhead, third, 91 and Lori McNeill, fourth, 68. A roping school will be held at the Vernal Roping Club, Thursday and Friday Fri-day at 5 p.m. and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Mixed roping and a barrel race will take place after the roping school on Saturday. Upcoming events are as follows: jackpot. Workman's arena, Roosevelt, June 18; jackpot, Valley Roping Club, Vernal, June 25; signups 7 p.m. begins at 7:30 p.m.; Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, July 3, 4 and 5; Meeker Rodeo, July 4 and 5 and Jensen Rodeo, June 20. Bobette Warren and Ricky Massey placed first in the mixed team roping on June 3 and Bobette Warren and Whitey Ainge pocketed second place. Lori McNeill and Whitey Ainge placed third. |
