Fisherman hooks Walleyed Pike Jimmy Ray Hogue of Vernal hooked an 8 pound 2 ounce Walleyed Pike, Sunday, Sun-day, in the Green River below the Jensen bridge. The fish was 25' inches long and was taken on a bare hook. According to Ken Stringham of Ken's Sporting Goods, Hogue had a worm on his hook and it was gone when he reeled his line back in. Hogue was out of worms so he decided to fish with just a bare hook and a little while later he hooked his Walleyed Pike. A Walleyed Pike is a large vigorous American freshwater sport fish that has prominent eyes and is related to the perches but resembles the true pike. Heath Muse, an eight year old fisherman fisher-man from Vernal, nabbed a 204 inch long rainbow trout, Friday at Steinaker Reservoir near the boat ramp. He hooked hook-ed the four to five pound fish on salmon eggs. He also nabbed two smaller fish at Steinaker Reservoir, Thursday. |
