Show " ) ; I) GCHS Student Tours USU, Ccinpstes For Grant Charla Wimmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Wimmer, Thompson, Utah, and a student at Grand County High School, was among the 130 outstanding high school seniors who spent Friday and Saturday, February 14-15, at Utah State University acquainting acquaint-ing themselves with the campus, meeting faculty members and taking competitive examinations. They were among students from throughout the United States who traveled to Logan to compete for five University Club Scholarships worth $5,000 each. To be invited to the competition, the seniors had to be in the top five percentile on ACT test scores or be semi-finalists in National Merit scholarship competition. The exams Saturday helped university officials offi-cials decide which students will become University Scholars. A similar number of seniors attended orientation and testing sessions last weekend. Charla is a member of the National Honor Society, Future Homemakers of America, Future Business Leaders of America and the girls volleyball volley-ball and track teams at her school. She is interested in majoring in mathematics. |
