Show St. George Probable Foe In First Tourney Clash The Moab Red Devils, traveling to the state 2-A basketball tournament in March, will probably end up playing St. Geoge, as things now stand. St. George is currently second place behind Cedar Ce-dar City and if they continue con-tinue in that position they will be the Devils' first opponent in the tournament. tourna-ment. The first game for the Red Devils will be on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Merriot Activity Center Cen-ter (Big Mac) on the BYU campus. Both 2-A and 3-A tournaments will be held at the same time and all fans will have an opportunity oppor-tunity to see some of the best basketball in the state at that time. 3-A schools will play on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, March 5 for their first round, and the 2-A will have their first round on Thursday, March 6. Finals will be played on March 8. It was also announced that Fred Davis, head wrestling coach at BYU will be the featured speaker spea-ker at the Moab Booster Club winter banquet. Davis Da-vis is a former All-American All-American wrestler from Oklahoma and he has been a driving force in the building of the BYU wrestling wrest-ling squad to one of the best in the nation. The Winter Banquet, honroing all basketball, wrestlers and cheerleaders cheerlead-ers will be held on March 18 at the Home Ec. Room at the High School. |
