Show Two Moab Vrestlers VJin Tourney Spots Robert Winder andWes Ing, two Red Devil wrestlers, wrest-lers, will represent the Moab school in the state championship wrestling meet this weekend in He-ber He-ber City, Utah. Winder, winner in the 112 class, decisioned Jones of San Juan 7-4, to gain the spot in the state meet, and Ing pinned pin-ned Grey of San Juan in 1:45 to gain his slot in the meet. The Broncos, however, will place ten men in the state competion, and have about three former state champs in their group. The Broncos should be top contenders for the state championship. Saturday, the Devil wrestlers traveled to Duchesne Du-chesne and competed in the all- Region Ten meet. Winners of first place in the 2-A division met winners win-ners in the 1-A division and so on through the different dif-ferent positions in each weight. Wes Ing again placed first in the heavy weight class, ginning his opponent, oppon-ent, d Scott Bentley gained a 5-4 decision over his opponent. Robert Winder Win-der dropped his match with a 6-2 score. Top scorers in the region re-gion were Monticello, Duchesne, Du-chesne, Altamont, East Carbon and Green River in 1-A and San Juan and Moab in 2- A. The Devils placed one man in first, second, and third and nine wrestlers in fourth while Monti -cello and San Juan each garnered 5 first place and 5 second place finishes. |
