Front row, Mark Gashorn, Maudie McAlister, Les McAlister, Mc-Alister, Brian Gashorn. 50TH Wedding Anniversary Observed by Couple In observance of the 50th wedding anniversary annivers-ary of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie McAlister, their children hosted an open op-en house at the parents' home in north Green River, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday. Feb. 9th. Maudie Swasey became be-came the bride of Lester Les-ter McAlister on Feb. 9. 1923 at Moab. Utah. She was born Feb. 22, 1906 at Castle Dale. Utah and accompanied her parents to Green River at age six months, where she lived and attended school. McAlister was born at Chandler. Texas on Oct. 28. 1900, moved with his parents to Oklahoma. Ok-lahoma. Kansas and to Monticello. Utah in 1917, where he spent his younger manhood on a dry farm east of the town. During their early married life McAlister was a coal miner at Sego. Utah. When the mines closed he moved to Winfield. Kansas working for the city of Winfield as an electrical inspector for over 20 years. They moved back to Monticello in 1947. In 1967 McAlister retired re-tired and they moved to Green River, buying the Xeldon Lane home. The couple have two sons. Ted of Denver, Colorado and Walter of Moab. Utah and two daughters. Mrs. (Jean) Xuel Hinegardner of Winfield. Kansas and Mrs. (Elaine) Herbert Goshorn of Provo. Utah. They have thirteen grandchildren. All of their children were home for the occassion. |
