Show I Counties Now in Charge Of CAP in SE Utah (irand County Officials Offic-ials last w cel. held public pub-lic meeting for the purpose pur-pose of revoking the designation of the Community Com-munity Action Agency and to put the organization organ-ization directly responsible respon-sible to the Association of (iovernmenls. The resolution declares de-clares that the Southeastern South-eastern Utah Association Associa-tion of Governments is designated as the agency to receive funds appropriated app-ropriated under the Kc-onomic Kc-onomic Opportunity Act. It will also have a division div-ision within the Association Assoc-iation to be known as the Southeastern Utah Community Action Agency Ag-ency and that agency will have a director to be appointed by the Association Ass-ociation of (iovernmenls. (iovern-menls. The Community Action Act-ion Agency will have all legal and necessary powers to receive and dispense funds and to comply with the guidelines guide-lines of the Office of Economic Opportunity. Chris J o u f 1 a s of Price, who is in charge of the economic development devel-opment district, fielded . questions along with Dan Johnson, the present director of Community Action Agencies. The men stated that the CAP Board of Directors Dir-ectors would remain the same as has been the case over the past few months. They also said a new director would be named because Mr. Johnson is leaving. The public was informed, by Grand County Commissioners Comm-issioners as well as CAP personnel, that the program will remain about the same as in the past, although the Commissions of the 4 counties involved will have the power to change portions if they wish to do so. |
