Franklin Wallace reported travel fig-1 ures for the month of October f for Capitol Reef National Park totaled 37,184 for an increase i 1 of 63 percent over the October jj travel last year. Total travel L figures for the nine month I period from January 1 through j, October 31 now stands at ' 451,575 compared to 282,871 f V for the corresponding period last year. This represents a 60 r percent increase for the year-to-date. ! The park will remain open ( on a year-round basis with the Visitor Center hours from 8 j a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the j week. Some interpretive pro- 'J grams will be discontinued for 1 the season. The area hiking j trails offer some outstanidng j views of the scenic features and are expecially colorful during the fall months. i ' |
