Show County Officially Drops CAP Program in Grand Regarding the Community Action p'gram in Grand County, Comm. Harvey Merrell made a formal motion Monday that the program be dropped. All commissioners voted in favor of this notion. This move has been under consideration for some time, however, federal regulations require certain , Procedures before a CAP program can be Pped. He reported he is planning to move the fire truck currently stationed in Thompson Thomp-son because it is not being taken care of. It currently has two flat tires and needs paint, a top and a hose. The commission agreed to see what could be done to rehabilitate the truck before it is stationed elsewhere. In other action, a beer license was granted to Roy Pogue, Jr., to operate the Alibi Club. Dick Smiley and Klen Brooks of Sky West, Inc., appeared to report on work that needs to be done at the airport. They said the runway and ramp need sweeping, the building needs paint, and the parking lot and tie-down area need blacktop. , They also said they feel the runway needs to be ploughed quickly after snowstorms rather than have to wait until other ploughing is done. And they suggested that a tie-down fee be charged and that parking fees be charged for cars. Commissioner-elect Leo Burr was in attendance at the meeting. |
