Senator Jake Garn j.UO said Friday that he - ants to assure the people of his stale, that, regardless of their political party affiliation, I,,, is a Senator "for all of Utah ,nd a" U"'hn!i-" "ie State has just conic through a hotly contested Senate race in which the scat ehanged hands," said Senator Garn. "This, of course, means that both Senate seats will be held by Senators from the same political party. I want all Utahns to know that, regardless regard-less of these political persuasions, persua-sions, I am here to serve them. During the past two years when a constituent has sought help from one of my offices, there has never been an inquiry about that constituent's constitu-ent's political preference, nor will there be as long as I am in office. "The Utah Senate campaign was heated but it need not be divisive as far as service to the people of the State is concerned. All Utahns should have a voice in the affairs of government and they always will while I am their Senator. I want the people to know that if they have a problem or a question with which they feel I may be able to help, their correspondence is welcome.
