Increasing In-creasing local responsibilities respon-sibilities together with national economic and energy en-ergy problems require new and greater efforts by counties on behalf of the citizens they serve. Conference speakers and participants in workshop sessions will explore ways in which county governments go-vernments can better respond re-spond to these situations. The wide range of county coun-ty responsibilities and services is reflected in the variety of workshop sessions conference participants par-ticipants will attend to share information and ideas. Subjects of the workshops work-shops range from energy resource planning to improved im-proved fiscal procedures to election laws. Some of the other topics discussed will be recent state legislation leg-islation affecting coun ties, national legislative issues of county concern, property taxation, motor vehicle registration, court services, prosecutorial prosecu-torial and judicial relationships rela-tionships in Utah, land title recording, peace officer of-ficer standards and training, trai-ning, registration of land surveyors and problems with changeover to computers. com-puters. Another highlight of the Conference will be the awarding of the Outstanding Out-standing County Officials Award for 1974.
