By Marsha Wiggins, Lakeland, Florida Pearl Watts Taylor, is the same type of person that inspired this type ( of thinking many years ago, when she started the , first Camp Fire Girls in , Moab. During this time 1912, 1 she had 12 girls. This I was the first girls or- 1 ganization of this kind in i Moab for the younger girls. However, due to the lack of funds, the i state of Utah had to drop the Campfire Girls, when , the Girl Scouts of America Amer-ica began. Because of the fantas- tic ability of this amazing amaz-ing and loving woman, we the girls and leaders of Girl Scout Troop 617 would like to take this opportunity to honor Pearl with a token of our appreciation. The certificate certi-ficate reads Pearl Taylor Heritage Trails, Utah Girl Scout Council. It is a small, yet significant, for she is now recognized officially as an honorary girl scout and a member of the Moab Neighborhood Council, District 7. Troop 617, will be hosting Mrs. Taylor at their next troop meeting which will be held, Monday, Mon-day, March 31, at which time the girls will finish the interview which was started earlier by leaders lead-ers Diane Norman and Else Daniels. An article similar to that of last weeks will follow next week. |
