Show Chamber Reviovi$ Final Plans Last minute details have all been wrapped up during the past week in preparation for the annual an-nual Moab Jeep Safari. This was the good news reported by Harold Jacobs, Ja-cobs, trail boss of the annual affiar. It was noted no-ted that their will be possibly pos-sibly four new trails this year and they range from fairly rough to extremely extreme-ly rough. Connie Caouette, Caou-ette, veteran leader for the Safari,' has blazed all the new trails and this week announced that they are ready for the participants. parti-cipants. Members of the Moab Chamber of Commerce also heard reports from Secretary Joyce Murray on the number of persons that have pre-registered for the event. Well over 200 vehicles have already sent in notice that they will be participating, with those registrations coming com-ing from Colorado, California, Cali-fornia, Kansas, Texas, Idaho, Minnesota, New Mexico and Nevada as well asa large number from Utah. Keith Peterson gave a report on the good success suc-cess of the annual cleanup clean-up campaign held last weekend in Moab. Winners Win-ners of the different categories cate-gories j were the Com-r-.unity Baptist Church, Beta Sigma Phi sororitv, and Girl Scout Troop 167. A total of 73,210pounds of trash was collected despite the cold wind and rain that hit the area on Saturday afternoon. |
