Show A Look at the Trails . . . Fight trails will be offered in Moab's annual Jeep Safari this year. Four of these trails are brand now, but no matter what route is chosen, each one promises to lead into country Uiat is filled with unique wonders and beauty unequalled elsewhere. The following brief descriptions will help participants par-ticipants choose trails that are suited to their vehicles, ve-hicles, driving skills and tastes for challenge. Fuh trail is described in detail, along with art work, in various pages of this issue. Headers are invited to scan the entire issue for Safari information. The trail outline follows: CANE CREEK CANYON. Route via U.S. 163, turnoff near Hole 'N The Rock, down Cane Creek Canyon. Off-pavement trail has sand, rough rock, steep grades. Short wheelbase vehicles recommended. Koyce Henningson is the leader. BEHIND THE ROCKS. Route via U.S. 163, Blue Hill, rim of Cane Creek Canyon, Hunter Canyon, Prit-ehett Prit-ehett Canyon. Return via Cane Creek Road. Off-pavement Off-pavement trail has sand, rough rock, steep grades, sharp turns, slickrock, drywash travel. Leader is Bobbie Domenick. POISON SPIDER MESA. Route via U.S. 163, Utah 2.9, Poison Spider Mesa. Return via same route after making loop on top. Off-pavement trail is rough, has sand, steep grades, poor traction, and much slickrock. Leader is Joyce Murray and Ernest Milner. MOAB RIM. Toughest, but shortest of all. Route via Cane Creek Road, Moab Rim, Behind the Rocks. Return via Cane Creek Road. Off-pavement trail is very steep, rough, has limited clearances, rock ledges, sand, slickrock, sharp turns, danger for inexperienced drivers. Short wheelbase vehicles recommended. Leader is Brig Larsen. FLAT PASS. Route via Spanish Valley Drive. Return via Moab Golf Course road. Off-pavement trail is steep, crosses streambeds several times, treacherous treach-erous in places. Recommended for experienced drivers dri-vers and short wheelbase vehicles. Leader is Connie Caouette. DRY MESA. Route via U.S. 163, Arches National Park. Return via Arches, U.S. 163. Off-pavement trail winds through fairly easy drywash bottom terrain, very rough in one stretch. Recommended for those with some driving experience. The leader is Chuck McMurray. PORCUPINE RIM. Route via the Sand Flats Road and Negro Bill Canyon. Return Negro Bill, Sand Flats Road. Off-pavement road offers moderate to very difficult driving, sloping terrain. Leader is Urban Linehan. ANOTHER TRML: Tieolodi Spring will be added at the end of the week and will be led by Bob Anderson. An-derson.
