Show New wildcat drilling for Utah Oil & Gas companies have scheduled new wildcat wild-cat well drilling in Utah notes Carlton Stowe, staff speicalist with the Utah Department of Natural Resource's Geological Survey. In Emery County, Cabot Corp., of Pampa, Texas says it will drill the No. 1 Jessies Twist-Federal, a remote wildcat well projected to about 5,300 feet in the San Rafael Desert area some 18 miles southwest of Green River. In San Juan County, Husky Oil Co., announced it will drill the No. 4-31 Hook & Ladder-Federal, Ladder-Federal, some 24 miles southeast of Moab. It is a projected 9,900 foot test well located near the northwest end of the Lisbon Valley, southwest of LaSal Junction. Utah's Division of Oil, Gas & Mining approved a three-well three-well drilling program in the Cisco Dome area by Dyco Petroleum Corp., Tulsa, Oklahoma. The wells will be drilled to depths of 3,500 to 3,800 feet for tests of the Morrison formation. In Uintah County, Jerry Chambers Oil Producer, Denver, has made a well location for a 3,600 foot test in the Horseshoe Bend vicinity. It is the No. 1-4 Federal. New Uranium & Silver Exploration Ex-ploration Due to Start Mr. Stowe reports the Mining Division has also received notices from three Utah mining operators opera-tors of their intent to start mining operations. The Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc., Denver, intends to conduct uranium exploration explora-tion from an underground mine at the Hillside Gismo and Bears Ears vicinity about 25 miles west of Blanding in San Juan County. The area is just southwest of the Manti LaSal National Forest. For-est. An uranium underground under-ground mining operation is to be done at the No. 1 Pine Ridge mine operated by General Electric Uranium Urani-um Management Corp., of Naturita, Colorado. It is just northeast of the LaSal Junction area some 22 miles southeast of Moab. 5-M Inc., located in Hurricane will start operations opera-tions at the Silver Reef mine, an open pit and underground silver operation opera-tion in the Leeds area about 12 miles northeast of St. George. |
