Show Police Week highlighted by parade, ceremonies s Mayor Harold Jacobs has proclaimed the week beginning Monday, May 15, as "National Police Week" in Moab, and ceremonies have been scheduled to mark the occasion. In the official proclamation, proclama-tion, Mayor Jacobs stated: "Whereas, the Law Enforcement En-forcement Officers are our guardians of life and property, defenders of the individual right to be free men, warriors in the war against crime, and dedica- i : 1 ted to the preservation of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, and whereas Moab City desires to honor the valor, service and dedication of its own police officers, ... we call upon all our citizens in this community to especially espe-cially honor and show our sincere appreciation for the police officers of this city by deed, remark and attitude." Mayor Jacobs called upon all Moab citizens to make every effort to express their thanks to the men who make it possible for us to leave our homes and families in safety each day and to return to our homes knowing they are protected by men willing to sacrifice their lives, if necessary, to guard our loved onces, property and government against all those who would violate the law. Police officers and auxiliary auxi-liary organizations have scheduled a parade for Monday at 3 p.m., which will begin at 3rd South and Main and proceed north on Main Street to 1st North. Flags will be flown at half mast during the day, and ceremonies will be held at the County Courthouse following the parade. |
