Senior hurler Tommy Pruitt clipped the Wasps' wings with 13 strikeouts, while giving up only 2 hits, both in the 5th inning. Pruitt chalked up his fourth consecutive shut-out, while advancing his record to an impressive impres-sive 7 wins 0 losses for the season. The Red Devil defense was flawless as they played an errorless game. Catcher Jim Key "swatted" "swat-ted" down on the two baserunners for the Juab Wasps, throwing a perfect strike to second base for the out, on an attempted steal. Left fielder Mark Milner showed good hustle hus-tle and a strong arm as he threatened the runner going in to second base on the only other hit for the Wasps. Strong hitting by Wes Key, Tommy Pruitt and Chad Donoghue, and a nice sacrifice bunt laid down by Danny Key to score the first run, paced the Devils to their 4-0 victory. There was a grand total of 5 hits and 5 walks for the Moab Devils. Moab will play the Grants ville, who defeated South Sevier, next Friday at 3:00 on the Price Municipal Field. |
