Show More snow in Southeast Utah Snow levels on the Blue and LaSal Mountains continue to run above normal, according to Kedric Somerville, of the Soil Conservation Service in Monticello. The highest reading recorded was on the upper LaSal snow course on Geyser Pass which is running at 204 per cent of normal. The snow depth was measured at 51.7 inches with a water content of 23.9 inches. The reading on the lower LaSal water course taken April 29 indicates a similar improvement over last year with a snow depth of 14.2 inches, water content of 6.1 inches. The percentage of normal water amounts was 197. A year ago at this same time, the LaSals were running 40 per cent of normal. According to Somerville's measurements on the Blue Mountains Moun-tains April 28, the lower snow ' course at Buckboard Flat had a ' snow depth of 17.6 inches with a water content of 4.6 inches. |
