Show Library Funds Freed In Washington, Moss Says Federal funds to be applied on construction of the new Grand county Library have been released in Washington, it was announced Tuesday by Sen. Frank E. Moss. The Senator told The Times-Independent Times-Independent that a delay in making the funds available for current construction work had been cleared up, and the funds would be in local hands in the immediate future. The amount of money involved in-volved was $64,646, which is matched dollar for dollar with local monies raised for the new library project. Delays De-lays in paying the contractor, Groneman Construction Co., had arisen when the federal monies were not on hand. That problem should now be cleared,, local library board members indicated Tuesday. Although the building is not scheduled for completion until early fall, under terms of the contract, it appears that the contractor may be finished by May or June. It is anticipated that some available avail-able money may be left over for application on additional books, it was indicated. The new library, located on First East and Center, was designed by Salt Lake City architect, Ralph Edwards. |
