Show Public Auction Slated on Steen Property A public auction has been set for April 10 for the Nevada Ne-vada property of former Moab Mo-ab resident, Charles A. Steen, it was stated this week in an Associated Press release. The property has been placed under foreclosure as a result of Internal Revenue Service action. The IRS says Steen, who discovered the famed MiVida uranium mine near Moab, owes $1.8 million on individual individ-ual income tax returns from 1958 to 1960. His lawyers say the matter is being contested and should be cleared up within a month. Involved are Steen's office near the Reno Airport, his Arabian horse ranch in Washoe Wa-shoe Valley and property in Dayton, Nevada. His ranch home is not included. |
