Show Interest Rising in Big Canyonlands Tourney Moab golf pro, Glenn Victor, Vic-tor, reported this week that the Sixth Annual Canyonlands Open Golf Tourney activity is humming. Local golf leaders moved the traditional fall tourney to April 6 and 7 this year. Mr. Victor stated: "the move is paying dividends." Many top golfers in the Utah-Colorado area have inquired about reservations res-ervations and entries have already al-ready started to come in. Tournament play will be-gr:i be-gr:i with a practice round, vh'-h may be played any-t any-t me during the week starting April 1. Official play for the 36-hole meet will begin Saturday, Sat-urday, April 6. Due to the early dates of play last year's handicaps will be used to determine which one of four flights a golfer will participate in. Pairings and tee-off times will be announced Thursday, April 4. This year's $15 entry fee will cover, aside from the two-days play, a Saturday evening ev-ening dinner and dance. $1,000 in prizes will be distributed dis-tributed among the four top winners in each of the four flights. A unique "Crying Towel" will be presented to the golfer golf-er who has the highest tourney tour-ney score. |
