Show 4-County Development Meet Beckons Residents It is hoped a large delegation delega-tion of Moab residents will attend a Four County Development Devel-opment meeting in Price this Thursday, said Rep. Edward Drake Tuesday. Mr. Drake, a member of the stearing comy mittee of the four county organization or-ganization which planned the day-long seminar involving problems and possibilities in Emery, Carbon, Grand and San Juan counties, said that it could be a very noteworthy meeting in bringing about a concerted effort on the part of Southeastern Utah residents resi-dents for self-improvement. Called "Profile for Tomorrow," Tomor-row," the seminar will be held on the campus of the College of Eastern Utah, beginning be-ginning with registration from 9 to 10 a.m. Welcomes wil be extended at 10 a.m. by Director John Tucker, CEU, and by San Juan county Commissioner Marion Hazelton. At the conclusion of those remarks. Rep. Drake will giva the theme and purpose of the meet. A slate of speakers' will cover special interest fields at 10:20 .They will include John Hunt, U.S.U., tourism and recreation; Weston Hamilton, Ham-ilton, chairman of the State Road Commission, transportation; transpor-tation; Jay Bingham, director direct-or of the Department of Natural Na-tural Resources, natural resources; re-sources; Edward Clyde, Salt Lake City attorney, water; Bill Welch, Price, area development; de-velopment; and L. Ralph Me-cham, Me-cham, vice president of the University of Utah, education. Governor Calvin L. Ramp-ton Ramp-ton wil speak at a 12:15 luncheon, lun-cheon, after which discussion groups for each of the above fields will be formed. Heading Head-ing the groups are: Jack W. West, Moab, tourism; Rep. Drake, transportation; Sen. Sam Taylor, natural resources; resourc-es; Clyde Conover, member of the State Water Resources board, water; Sen. Omar Bunnell, Carbon county, area development and Rep. Larry Regis, Carbon county, education. educa-tion. A general assembly will be held from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., with summary and resolutions presented by chairman Brucs Halliday, San Juan county. |
