Show PIONEER MARKS 94THJBIRTIIDAY FARMINGTON Marking tha 94th milestone of an active life, the birthday anniversary of John Wilford Steed, assertedly Davis county's oldest resident, was celebrated cele-brated Thursday afternoon with a family dinner. From early boyhood Mr. Steed has been an ardent sports fan. At tha age of 70 he bagged a large bear In Farmington canyon. Born at Keokuk, Iowa, November Novem-ber 9, 1845, Mr. Steed came to Utah as a boy, making his home with ' relatives. At 18 years of age ha . went to Montana as a freighter, . engaging in hauling provisions to settlers. He has six living sons and daughters, daugh-ters, Joseph E. and David M. Steed, Cardston, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Rose S. Weldner, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alice Soule, St Anthony, Idaho, and Mrs. Elizabeth Walke and Mrs. Margaret Hess, Farm Ington. |
