He can usually be found working in his garden. Mr. Bird, who Is president and manager of the Bird tt Jex company, outdoor advertising, observes his birthday anniversary today. Born in Springvllle, he attended the Brlgham Young university, where he was active In student affairs. He filled a mission for the L. D. S. church to New Zealand following his graduation, and on his return taught In the L. D. S. college In Salt Lake City for several sev-eral years. He became Interested In the Utah BiU Posting company and In 1923, with H. C Jex, bought the remaining remain-ing Interests of the company and formed the Bird ft Jex company. Mr. Bird resides at 235 East Capitol street In addition to being a flower fancier, fan-cier, he enjoys a game of golf and also likes to fish. He will be honored Sunday at dinner by members of his family living In Salt Laka City. Mr. Bird Is a member of the chamber of commerce, the Rotary club, and Is a director of the Outdoor Out-door Advertising Association of America, a national organization.
