Show ENGINEERS WAIT SMOKECLASSES Approximately 100 building and Industrial .engineers, members of tha National Power Engineers' association, as-sociation, will go back to school Friday at 8 p. m. In an effort to minimize Salt Lake City's smoke nuisance this winter. The classes will be sponsored by (he ctty smoke abatement department, de-partment, conducted at room 301 city and county building and directed di-rected by William L. Butler, chief smoke abatement engineer for the city. Mr. Butler will be assisted by John Salberg and A. VanSanten. "Smoke abatement Is almost entirely en-tirely a matter of efficient utilisation utili-sation of fuel," said Mr. Butler. Tha classes will take up 12 phases, one a week, of elementary combustion and fuel conservation. "From last m year's classes - we have had good results coming chiefly from efficient selection of the size of coal and maintenance of minimum temperatures In furnaces. fur-naces. We are hopeful, of this year's school attaining aa much or greater success." . I |
