Show Just Folks By EDGAR A. GUEST OPIF. READ Only the few to say farewell! Only the old and gray. Who loved the tales you had to tell And all you had to say. Thus fame and wit and doing well So swiftly slip away. Time was, and not so long ago. You cheered the hearts of men; Led them from care and fear and woe To mirth and strength again. Then few there were who didn't know The magic of your pen. I of the age you graced so well. Who read you through and through. Loved the quaint tales you had to tell. And all the Jucklins knew, Pause here to wave a sad farewell And say a prayer for you. |
