Show f Spy, Sabotage Complaints Swamp FBI WASHINGTON, Dec. 13 UPl The federal bureau of Investiga-tlon Investiga-tlon la receiving an average of 214 complaint! a day of espionage, espion-age, sabotage and violations of national defense laws. The bureau said last night in a report on Its activities, however, how-ever, that "the Internal security 1 of the United States la better protected than at any other period pe-riod In our national existence." Since early last summer, the report said, FBI agents have been given intensive training In the handling of espionage and sabotage investigations. "The spy problem and the crime problem are essentially the same and must be attacked on 1 the same front," commented J. j Edgar Hoover, director of the r b i. - - He noted that there were fewer few-er cases of murder, aggravated assault, robbery and automobile theft this year than last,' although al-though rape, larceny and burglary bur-glary increased. |
