Dec. 20 P Byron "Wihzzer" White, Colorado's all American halfback, entered his stiffest competition today, but it wasn't on the football field. The "Whizzer" was in San Francisco to take a Rhodes scholarship ex-: amination. His opposition won't be helmeted linesmen, but an examining board of educators, industrialists and men prominent in business and political affairs. Will Soon Know By tonight "Whizzer" will know if his scholastic ambitions have been realized and whether he will go to Oxford. England, with expenses ex-penses paid for a four years' postgraduate post-graduate course at one of the world's most renowned citadels of j learning. Taking the examination with White will be 11 other men from six western states, nresumablv itut as smart and as fit as he. but as only four scholarships are open, most of them must fail.
