Sunday morning by swallowing laudanum and slashing the arteries of her left wrist with a knife, is now. considered out of danger by her attendants at St Mark's hospital. ' It Is said that her act was influenced by trouble with her husband with. regard re-gard to their daughter, Laveta, age 14 years. The child is a student at Rowland Row-land hall. It is said that her father; called for her in a carriage a few days ago and took her to Binghanv-where he has been living since the estrangement with his wife. When the child failed to return from school the mother frantically appealed to the police, who told her that the affair af-fair was out of their Jurisdiction. The girl returned voluntarily to her mother a few days ago. A reconciliation will. It Is believed, be brought about by the child by reason of the attachment each parent feels - for her. Mrs. Mayberry Is being attended at the hospital by her husband and daughter. daugh-ter. In order to prevent a repetition of the attempt upon her life & constant watch is being kept on Mrs. Mayberry by the nurses and physician attending her. - ' |
