Show PAINLESS DEATH FOR INCURABLES DISCUSSED The Salt Lake County. Medical society held a discussion last night at its regular regu-lar meeting on the ending of human life by a painless method when a patient pa-tient is Buffering from a painful and in- curable disease. Dr. E. S. Wright held that the world should sanction as a process of mercy the permanent relief of such a patient by the administration of an opiate or an anaesthetic. The discussion arose after the pitiful case of an aged woman with a cartilaginous car-tilaginous growth on her neck was brought to the attention of the society. The growth will cause strangulation, and an operation would mean almost certain death. The antl-publlclty measure of Dr. La Motte was killed, as his motion to consider con-sider the question of forming a press-clipping press-clipping bureau for the purpose of keeping keep-ing tab on physicians who give Interesting Inter-esting cases to the newspapers, did not receive a second. The challenge of the osteopaths for a joint debate was Ignored. . |
